"Two Views" Opus 2 - Light Sculptures and Venetian Glass by Michael Magyar
The Sandwich Glass Museum is proud to present “TWO VIEWS,” opus 2, Light Sculptures and Venetian Glass by Michael Magyar, International exhibiting glass artist. This exhibition represents two views of the passion Michael has for glass. One is the material representing the fluidity and transparency of glass, the other is the rigidity and disciplined control of the material.
Michael has a BFA in ceramics/sculpture and a MFA in glass/sculpture. He has studied glass and sculpture in Italy, Sweden and Japan. He has assisted several Italian Masters and several American masters such as Chihuly, Lipofsky and Littleton. He has been an artist for over 30 years and is very highly esteemed by his peers.
He traveled extensively throughout the United States before settling down on the Cape and building The Glass Studio 15 years ago. His wife Keiko and daughter Jessica run the gallery and his son Taiki works in the studio assisting him in making glass. A family tradition continues!
